“ I think what I do is actually live on the canvas. I paint, write, eat and walk on it. I, spill water, mix colors, trip over the pigments which suddenly rise like a little cloud (yellow, red) around my feet, they end up falling into the least likely places. Between us, it is a fantastic moment.”
Conxita takes the world of food and recipes, places it in a mixing bowl filled with color and imagination and presents it to us in delightful paintings which are at the same time both naïf and sophisticated. Her unique compositions of ordinary cooking utensils and ingredients laced with texts from multilingual cookbooks are whimsical and inviting. |

“I try to reflect a studied naturalness.”
The New York born photographer, Michele Curel set up her studio in Barcelona in 1991. Michele travels around the world with her old Hasselblad camera, her principal ally and work tool. Her main theme interests include portraits, publicity, architecture and interior design. There is an acute sharpness and freshness to her work, whether it be depicting a series of neon signs of diners spread around the U.S. or nomadic tribal members from the Subsahara.
Michele´s work has been featured in high end publications such as the New York Times, National Geographic, Newsweek, Vanity Fair, Food & Wine, Town & Country. |
